MISS TEEN TEXAS BLOG

My first month as Miss Teen Texas has been a whirlwind. There has been so much to do in such a little amount of time but, it has all been so fun and exciting. I'm looking forward to Orlando and feel prepared to compete and represent Texas. Thanks to all of the help that I recieved from so many people. I enjoyed appearing on Johnnie High's and talking to youth groups and I know I will get to do so much more as soon as I return. Rebecca, Miss Texas, has been such a great source of support as well. The T.V. shows we appeared on started very early in the morning and it was nice to see her smiling face. She always helped me put on my crown and with anything else I was unsure of. My homecoming is coming up as well as Johnnie High's again and I am elated!

Hi everyone, life after Miss America's Outstanding Teen has been great. School has started and my sophomore year has begun.  It's wonderful to be with my friends again! My classes are more demanding than ever this year, but I am still enjoying it.

I am having a great time with appearances too!  I've enjoyed doing many charity events such as Dash For Dignity, Juvenile Diabeties Research Foundation Walk and the Cowtown Ball for the American Cancer Society.  It was great getting to be in the State Fair of Texas opening parade.

Ashlin's Ltd.has been so wonderful to me!  Not only do they have great clothes, but they have shown me great support and great hospitality.  I've modeled for them several times and thoroughly enjoyed being with them during GrapeFest and Diva Days!

I recently visited Meridian, TX with Ms. Lydia to go to the National Championship Barbecue Cookoff.  That was an experience!  I had so much fun and enjoyed their great hospitality.

The local pageants have also been fun to go to.  I love seeing my Miss Teen Texas and Miss Texas Organization family.  All the girls look great this year and it makes me so happy to see all my pageant sisters together again! I got to be a part of the Ellis County & Duncanville Pageant where I gave up my local title of Miss Teen Duncanville.  I was also invited to be a part of the Fort Worth & North Texas Pageant.  Next I will be going to part of the Houston & Harris County pageant.

Coming up, I look forward to going to Tyler for a MADD event with Lisa Dalzell Spooner, former Miss Texas I am so grateful that she has invited me and can't wait to go and hear their message this year.  I will also get to be a part of the Fort Worth Police Department’s Toy Drive Collection Event.

I was recently highlighted in Savvy MagazinePanache Magazine, my school newspaper, and appeared in Pageantry Magazine for being in the top ten at MAOT.

All of these events are very exciting and I never want these experiences to end!  :)
